WORKING WITH A CUSTOM HOME BUILDER

This was a wonderful experience from the very start working with Mike and his design team to putting the finishing touches on just before we moved in.  Mike is very conscientious about pleasing his customers and instills that same caring quality in his subcontractors.  Mike will listen to the customer’s wants and needs and give his honest opinion if asked.

Everyone we worked with was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful.  We would do this all over again (well, except for the moving part)!!

We had a custom home built with Mike Riddle and I say with, intentionally as he made it a creative process with us, hearing our idea’s, and allowing us to be part of the design. We were impressed with how Mike handled the things that can come up with building such a large home (6000 sf), with ease and never skipped a beat in keeping production going.

Our home incorporated metal roofing, geo-thermal heat systems, well and septic and some beautiful finishes.  He procured 10 foot tall 4 panel sliding doors that recesses into a wall unseen allowing a fantastic view and wonderful summer entertaining.  Along with stone finishes, hardwood flooring and tile, with a 20 ft. peak in our great room ceiling we have this marvelous juxtaposition of large beams with 5 ft. crystal chandelier.  It’s beautiful!

Mike’s attention to detail, his insight and creative thinking helped bring us a finished product that we are thrilled with and will be our family home for many years.  We look forward to another project with Mike Riddle in the future, as we dream about a vacation home.

We would recommend Mike for many reasons, a few of those being: integrity, creativity, quality and dependability and fun!

Unlike other people we know who said after they built they would only do it once…we would build with Mike again and look forward to that adventure!

Mike Riddle built our home in South Salem in 2015.  We chose to build because we couldn’t seem to meet our needs with what was available on the market at the time, and Mike listened carefully to what we were looking for and took the time to explain how he could meet those needs at a reasonable price.

Also importantly, he explained how his process worked, and we could see from the start that it was different from what some of our friends had experienced with other builders.  Mike focuses on constant, clear communication so that we knew what was going on with the building process at all times, how much things would cost, and what timelines we could expect.  Mike and his staff alerted us to any wrinkles in the process, to avoid unpleasant surprises, making us feel that we were part of the same team to get this project done.

He has been fair with us on price, and has helped us realize our dream home while staying within our budget.  It was important to us that Mike used local, quality subcontractors throughout the process, and we will even be continuing to do business with some of those vendors even after the completion of our project.  Even though we were not building a large home, Mike and his staff never made us feel like we were less important than any of his other clients.  We have lived all across the country, in all kinds of different homes, and we feel that Mike has truly provided us with our dream home.

Working with Mike Riddle and his construction company was a pleasant experience from start to finish. I had numerous houses built as my career took me around the country; and had varying experiences with builders, both good and bad.

My previous residences led to the design of my final (retirement) house and I wasn’t willing to trust that to just anyone.

Hence, I sought out someone of the highest integrity and reputation, and that was Mike.
