Designed to embrace the beauty of the Oregon Coast while responding to its demanding environment, this modern coastal home balances expansive views and natural light with thoughtful protection from wind and rain.

Designed in collaboration with Capri Architecture, the home's open living spaces are oriented toward the ocean, with expansive glazing creating a strong connection between the interior and surrounding landscape. An 18-foot sliding glass door opens the main living area to a covered ocean-facing deck, extending the gathering space outdoors while a substantial roof overhang provides protection from the coastal weather.

Natural materials bring warmth and texture to the contemporary interior. A custom slatted walnut wall follows the staircase through the center of the home, its flowing geometry inspired by the movement of the ocean beyond. In the great room, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace is illuminated by skylights and integrated lighting, creating another architectural focal point within the open living space.

Throughout the home, spaces were designed to take advantage of the coastal setting while remaining comfortable and functional for everyday living. Ocean-facing bedrooms, custom fireplaces, built-in cabinetry and a dedicated TV room provide both private and shared spaces, while a safe room adds another layer of thoughtful planning.

The result is a home shaped by its environment, designed not only to withstand the conditions of the Oregon Coast, but to make the landscape, weather and ocean an integral part of the experience of living there.
