Riddle Construction is an award-winning custom home builder serving Oregon’s Willamette Valley and Coast. Our collaborative design-build process puts your family’s needs and personal style at the center of every decision, so each space is purpose-driven and planned for how you live today and in the years ahead.
Think of this like a marriage. We will spend a lot of time together and it is important for you and your builder to have open and honest communication with each other. Building a custom home can be stressful and you can get design fatigue but our team is here to help you every step of the way so that doesn’t happen.
We have occasionally worked with client representatives. Please send us a project inquiry with more information so we can schedule a consultation.
Riddle Construction builds custom homes and completes thoughtfully designed remodels throughout the Willamette Valley and Oregon Coast. Our primary service area includes Salem, McMinnville, Newberg, Dundee, Carlton, Amity, Stayton, Aumsville and surrounding communities, extending north through Sherwood, Wilsonville, West Linn and Lake Oswego. Along the Oregon Coast, we serve communities from Astoria south through Lincoln County, including the surrounding coastal areas.
If you’re considering a project outside these areas, we’re always happy to discuss the location and determine whether it’s a good fit for our team.
Luxury Homes
Yes! With Riddle Construction, homeowners are in the driver’s seat. They can be involved in the custom home building process as much as they want – or as little as they want. We want the process to be enjoyable.
Each custom home project budget is carefully assembled using coordinated input from our team, trusted subcontractors, and key suppliers. Once plans are finalized and selections are confirmed, we distribute the information to our trade partners to obtain detailed, project-specific estimates. These are then thoroughly reviewed internally before we schedule a dedicated meeting to walk through the budget with you.
Monthly draws are provided with full financial transparency. Each draw includes all invoices received and any change orders executed during that billing cycle.
Yes. We maintain a list of architects and design professionals we know and trust, and we’re happy to help connect clients with the right design partner for their project. Working with an architect is not required for every project, but depending on the scope and complexity of the work, it may be recommended.
No. Site selection is outside our scope, we’re happy to recommend a group of trusted realtors who can assist you in finding the right property.
Yes. Our home warranty program is outlined as part of the initial contract, so clients understand the coverage and process before construction begins. At the final walkthrough, we review the warranty again and explain what to expect as the home settles and how to contact our team if an issue arises.
If something needs attention after move-in, we help determine whether it falls under the home warranty, a manufacturer’s warranty or another applicable warranty, and coordinate the appropriate next steps.
Riddle Construction has been building custom homes for more than 20 years. Our team brings a lifetime of hands-on construction knowledge—much of it rooted in early, generational exposure to the trade.
When you build a custom home with Riddle Construction you will be designing functionality for you and your family while you infuse your own personal expression into your home.
Building a custom home typically takes between 18 months and three years. The overall timeline is influenced by the size, scope and complexity of the project, as well as the level of customization involved.
Additional factors that affect the schedule include whether architectural plans and engineering are completed prior to starting, the length of the design and permitting process, site conditions, material availability and coordination with specialty trades.
Changes made during construction can also extend the timeline, as custom homes often require thoughtful revisions and detailed craftsmanship.
Our goal is to prioritize quality, clear communication and a well-managed process—ensuring your home is built to the highest standard rather than rushed to meet an arbitrary deadline.
We build exclusively high-end custom homes—never spec homes—throughout Oregon’s Willamette Valley and along the Oregon Coast. Every home we create is fully tailored to the client, the land, and the lifestyle it’s meant to support. Our portfolio reflects a broad range of architectural styles, from refined modern and coastal contemporary to timeless farmhouse and classic Northwest design.
Our vision is to bring each client’s dream home to life through a highly collaborative process rooted in thoughtful design, precision craftsmanship, and intentional material selection. We believe exceptional homes are built at the intersection of creativity, technical expertise, and clear communication.
From initial concept and design development through construction and final walkthrough, we guide our clients through every step with transparency, care, and attention to detail. We partner closely with architects, designers, and artisans to ensure every decision—structural, aesthetic, and functional—supports the long-term performance and beauty of the home.
The result is a one-of-a-kind residence that feels personal, enduring, and deeply connected to both its owners and its surroundings—built to be lived in, enjoyed, and passed down for generations.
Custom Remodels
Yes. We will put together a remodel project budget after our first meeting during which we will determine the scope of work that needs to be done. Once signed, we will get started on your project.
Keep in mind, these projects can sometimes be the land of the unknown. Once we knock a wall down, we don’t always know what is on the other side.
Your remodeling project lead will be a Riddle Construction site superintendent. You will be introduced to that site super during our planning phases. They will be your point of contact during construction and provide you with daily/ weekly/ even monthly schedules.
A remodel schedule and start work date will be determined once we understand the scope of your project. To start this process, please send us an inquiry!
Construction plans are not needed for a remodeling project consultation with Riddle Construction. If we determine plans are needed, we have designers and architects that can help.
